Bulk Glycosil™ Product Data Sheet
For research use only
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Bulk Glycosil is packaged as 0.1 grams of Glycosil™ ( thiol-modified sodium hyaluronate) per 20 mL vial. It is sterile filtered prior to lyophilization as a 1.0 w/v% solution in 1x PBS. It is blanketed with argon and under a slight vacuum.
STORAGE
Glycosil™
- Store Glycosil in original vials unopened at -20 °C for up to one year.
- Do not uncap the Glycosil vials since they will crosslink in the presence of oxygen. Use a syringe and needle to add DG Water.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Glycosil is prepared by dissolving the lyophilized solid in the DG Water. When reconstituted, it will be in 1x phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH ~7.4.
Bulk Glycosil should be prepared in the following manner:
- Allow the Glycosil to come to room temperature.
- Under
aseptic conditions, using a syringe and needle, add the following
amount of DG Water to the Glycosil vial (depending on the desired final
concentration)
- Add 5.0 mL for a 2.0 w/v% solution in 2x PBS
- Add 10.0 mL for a 1.0 w/v% solution in 1 x PBS
- Add 20.0 mL for a 0.5 w/v% solution in 0.5x PBS.
- Place the vial horizontally on a rocker or shaker. It will take <40 minutes for the solids to fully dissolve. The more dilute the solution, the quicker the dissolution. Solutions will be clear and slightly viscous. Note: Warming to 37 °C and/or gently vortexing will speed up dissolving time.
- Use with PEGDA (polyethylene glycol diacrylate) to form a hydrogel. The actual gelation time depends on the amount and concentration of PEGDA used and the concentration of the Glycosil solution.
Note: Product has been manufactured under aseptic conditions and tested for bacteria and fungus.
