Fibronectin

PEPTITE-2000™ is a synthetic peptide containing the RGD cell attachment sequence found in fibronectin, vitronectin and many other matrix and serum proteins.   Additionally, it has been designed to bind onto plastic surfaces via a hydrophobic
C-terminal sequence. PEPTITE-2000™ can be substituted as the primary cell attachment component in a chemically defined animal component-free culture system.  PEPTITE 2000™ is supplied in sterile 5 mg quantities.

Fibronectin’s primary function is related to cell adhesion and attachment to extracellular matrix. Certain domains of Fibronectin have been found to play important roles that involve interactions with collagen, heparin and other cell surface glycosaminoglycans (GAGs).

Vitronectin’s primary use in cell culture is related to cell adhesion. It also binds to heparin and collagen.
