About Us

Glycosan BioSystems was founded by Glenn Prestwich, William Tew, and Anna Scott in January 2006. The company received startup support from the Centers of Excellence Program for innovative research in Utah and from the University of Utah, then closed its first round of investment in May 2007.

Alameda based BioTime, Inc., a company that develops and markets products in the field of stem cells and regenerative medicine, has recently signed an agreement to acquire Glycosan BioSystems. While our location will change, Glycosan's core business will remain the same—providing you the highest quality hydrogels for research and development and soon for clinical use.
